we use the power of stories to improve the future of youth in foster care
BONUS BABIES
uses the power of story telling to bring attention to the challenges
faced by youth in foster care, and inspire people to take action to improve their fate.
By highlighting the experiences and struggles of foster care,
the program aims to raise awareness and motivate people to become
more involved in supporting this vulnerable population.
This includes volunteering, donating, or advocating for better policies and services for youth in foster care.
Through the use of purposeful storytelling, BONUS BABIES seeks to bring about
positive change in the lives of these young people.
Jayne Amelia Larson
is the creator and host and
is a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteer
with youth in foster care
"A show that has no easy answers, only hard questions...
in the same way a CASA works,
I explore all things in the foster care maze by talking
to kids, parents, caregivers, attorneys, social workers, therapists, adoptees,
adoptive parents, really anybody and everybody who will speak to me to
keep the conversation open and the information flowing about all things CASA."
original music by Christina Apostolopoulos
social media manager is Emma Karpman
audio producer is Adam "Yukon" Harr
executive producer is Jake Eberle
here's a recent Los Angeles Times article
by the terrific Nita Lelyveld about Jayne Amelia's work with her CASA child during Covid
